Which Way?
Psalm 143: 8 Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, For in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, For I lift up my soul to You.
The previous Psalm reveals David’s thoughts when Saul was in pursuit and this Psalm gives insight to the emotions, thoughts and prayers of David when Absalom usurped authority.
Perhaps thoughts of what he could have done differently with his wayward son and/or in his reign. All of us have been there; thinking of “could have’s” and “should have’s”, which accomplishes nothing except deepen depression and destroys hope.
In this passage we hear David’s heart cry for the Lord’s refreshing for the day and appeal for His direction. As with the Psalmist, when we’re refreshed by His presence, we can be confident and assured He will lead us in a plain path.
Which way do we go? His Way, with Him leading!
