His Presence
Acts 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.
There are some individuals that immediately impact by their mere presence. Over the years I’ve met such men and women that overtake the climate of a room or meeting. In some instances those encounters have led to lifelong friendships, others are there for a season yet their impact have influenced my life beyond.
Jesus was such a man, even after this His ascension, His presence transformed the disciples entire lives. To such a degree they were willing to lay down their lives as a result of having been in His presence.
What is it about His presence? A brief post, it’s virtually impossible to write the myriad of ways in which He does, but there is on external and internal evidence.
Our inequities are minimized when we’ve spent time in the Presence of the Lord.
These individuals were so transformed by His Presence that their inequities were replaced with boldness, confidence and assurance. They had been with Him and others recognized it.
When we spend time in His presence as we read the Word, pray, listen, obey what He says, rest, enjoy Him, He is magnified and our dysfunction and deficiencies are minimized.
Let us be among those of whom it is said “they’ve been with Jesus!”
