Stretching Prayer
Someone has said “when we come to the end of ourselves we come to the beginning of God!” Perhaps there is no greater place than in prayer. The early church found themselves in a challenging dilemma, Peter upon the faith he declared Who Jesus was – the Son of God; now is in prison with a likely death sentence.
Acts 12:5 Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church.
Note it was “constant” prayer, prayer that stretches beyond our preconceived, self-imposed limitations. Constant prayer is prayer that goes beyond; prayer that goes further, deeper and more desperate than we’ve experienced. This kind of prayer is focused and intentional.
Constant prayer, stretching, going beyond, intentional and focused is strategic key to seeing revival/renewal birthed in our churches and our nation.
