Another Gospel???

Gal. 1:6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel,

Paul writes to believers in the region of Galatia of a “different gospel” or “another gospel”.  These gospels are devised by and for the immediate benefit of men, not God or the eternal good of people

In the early portion of this letter there are other characteristics of “different” or “other” gospels.  One is (Gal. 2:4) the “different gospel” imposes man-made limitations leading to bondage. These aren’t “self-imposed”, rather they are coercion in the form of human requirements to a system that limits liberty and freedom in Christ.   These “gospels” also (Gal. 2:25)  set aside grace and imposes law/legalism prohibiting revelation by the Spirit of God to issues that only a select few have understanding of. When we’re born again by the Spirit through in Christ, the Holy Spirit is our teacher and guide, leading us into all truth.  Many of the purveyors of other gospels discourage at least and often prohibit viewing truth except through the lens of their own understanding.

Finally, (Gal. 3:2, 3) these “different gospels” focus more “doing” (activity) rather than on “hearing” which results in “being” (living, existing). The culture is in desperate need of seeing genuine, authentic believers that are Christ-followers in every area of their lives; public and private.

Know those who lead and minister among us is wise who follow the Gospel and not another.

Follow the Truth as revealed in His Word – the Bible!
