Fixed Gaze

Psalm 123:2   Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters, As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, So our eyes look to the Lord our God, Until He has mercy on us.

This Psalm begins with “Unto You I lift up my eyes”!  The question arises, for “how long?”

“Until” is the answer.  Until His mercy is released and manifested on our behalf.  Too often my gaze wanders due to doubt, unbelief or fleshly desires.  Yet with a fixed gaze on the Lord and His word “until” is the remedy for me and you.

A fixed gaze on Him provides direction as with Israel during their wilderness trek.  Guard against the tendency toward worry and distress; keep our eyes on Him “until” the steps are clear.

There are some who are reading this that who near the point of taking things into your own hands; continue to keep your gaze on Him for the path you are now inclined to take will have a harvest of regret and pain.  He will lead you in a clear path of blessing and peace.  Fix your gaze!
