Rev. 2: 13 “I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.
Is it possible to have a church in the midst of demonic strongholds, being a light? YES! Without a doubt it is, the Church of Pergamos serves as an example. There were two issues that had seeped in that had to be dealt with. Similar to our present day.
The doctrine of Balaam and the Nicolaitans; one was an attempt to mix immoral behavior within the church and the other an attempt to intertwine religious rites and ceremonies in addition to living by faith in Jesus Christ.
The lesson for the present day Church is to get pure, keep pure and stay pure. The key is repentance, staying clean and clear of any and all defilement.
As with the other churches referenced in Revelation two and three, “he who has an ear to hear what the Spirit says” will keep us on track – together!
Then the church can shine bright and clear into the darkness, even if Satan shows up!
