God’s Rest

Heb.4: 9, 10   There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.

Today we celebrate and provide for a day of “rest” for laborers, for all the contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity, laws and well-being of the United States. Unfortunately, one day doesn’t seem sufficient to recoup the energy required for most of America.

There is a “rest” that can be entered based on Someone else’s labor.  We see this in prophetically when Israel entered the Promised Land.  They entered cities they didn’t build, harvested crops they didn’t sow, abundance across the new land.

As with Israel, we can enter God’s rest  that affords us not relying on our own works, but His finished work on Calvary that provides eternal life.  We didn’t earn and we certainly don’t deserve it; yet He provides it to us because of His great love for us.

You can enter His rest by His love.  We know we love Him as we trust His work in, through and for us.  Enter His rest by receiving His love.
