Restored Joy
Psalms 51:12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.
What is “restored joy”? To restore something means to refurbish or renew something back to its original status, in this instance we’re speaking of joy! To have restored joy would mean our joy is renewed to the original joy we had when first coming into an authentic relationship with Jesus.
Recall the joy experienced then? It wasn’t based on fear, or having escaped hell; rather it was the amazing awareness you now had a relationship with the Creator of the universe.
Restored joy is contingent upon acting on the 10th verse; permitting Him to “create a clean heart” and our spirit being “renewed” within us.
My prayer today is to walk in that restored joy as I walk in holiness, cleansing and purity of not only behavior but of motives and desires.
Restore the Church’s Joy Lord!
