Ways & Paths

Psalm 25:4  Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths.

Which way do we go and how do we go?  Familiar queries for any trip one might take.  David asked the Lord to show him the Lord’s ways and the paths for his life’s odyssey.

David cries out to see the “ways” of the Lord and learn His “paths”.  Ways speaks of the manner or course He goes and paths refer to the “ways” (manner) He has consistently gone, they are very familiar to Him and hopefully will be to us!

His ways and paths include what Paul referred to as the “fruit of the Spirit”; “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness and faithfulness” (Gal. 5:22).  They become the consistent manner of our lives over the “long haul”.

As we consistently walk in His manner we continual learn His ways and understand His paths.
