Enduring Truth

Psalm 117    Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples! For His merciful kindness is great toward us, And the truth of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord!

Certainly one of the briefest Psalms written, yet these two verses contain a valuable nugget.  “The truth of the Lord endures forever.”  Recall Pilate asked Jesus the question “what is truth?” Truth is the Word of God (John 17:17).  The Truth, the Word of God is a Person, Jesus (John 1:1).

When we hold onto His Word, we’re holding onto eternity, eternal Truth.  Everything else will pass away, but His Word will remain (Mark 13: 31).  Holding onto the Word, the Truth, assures us of durability because the Word, the Living Word, The Truth – Jesus, resides within us.

Paul exhorted us to think on things that are true and there’s nothing more true than His Word, The Truth!
