The Word of Grace
We hear much about grace today, which has created a stir in a number of expressions of the Body of Christ. Grace is God’s enabling power with myriads of applications. Grace provides opportunities to receive that enabling power as well.
Paul noted the importance of grace as he spoke to the elders of Ephesus on his way back to Rome.
Acts 20:32 So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
Note this observations mentioned by the Apostle. 1st, grace is released through words. What is the content, not the subject alone, but the content of my words? Grace or disgrace?
2nd, grace builds up; it edifies saints in the faith. They become empowered to face the challenges, uncertainties and surprises life bring.
3rd, grace provides an inheritance which is one of abundance; eternal life, provision, purpose and meaning are just a few.
4th, grace characterizes those who are set apart, different from the world (“sanctification”). People of grace live different from the world in holiness, righteousness and peace.
Thanks be to God for the Word of His Grace!
