The Expected End

Eph. 1:18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

Where does God desire to take us?  Certainly unending residence with His manifest presence for all eternity, but what about the journey as we travel to that destination?

Paul prays that the “eyes of your understanding being enlightened” so that we can “know what is the hope (expected end) of His calling”.  Only with clarity of vision will we be able to see where we’re headed this side of living in His eternal presence.

There are other expected ends as well.  The seasons we find ourselves in, the places we live and work, the individuals we encounter seemingly by chance.  The expected ends include provision, peace and purpose being revealed in the places, locations and people our lives intersect with.

Lord open our eyes to each “expected end” You have in our journey of life!
