Betrayed!

Psalm 52: 8    But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever.

Betrayal is a challenge to even the strongest.  How does one withstand and endure such times?

Doeg betrayed David and was responsible for the deaths of an entire family of priests. Our verse reveals how David made it through all the unfounded guilt, accusation and responsibility the enemy assailed him with.

He stayed in the presence of the Lord; “like a green olive tree in the house of God”.  He stayed in the safety and security of God’s presence.  Keep in mind at this point in time the ark wasn’t even in Jerusalem yet, there were only remnants and memories of the tabernacle.

How does one access this “presence” when there is no physical location to run to?  “TRUST”!  Paul penned it a bit differently when he wrote “having done all stand” (Eph. 6:13).

There are occasions when all we can do is TRUST the Lord and His Word.  We too, like David will voice our praise to the Lord again!

Trust Him, even in betrayal!
