Certain Hope

Psalm 119: 81 My soul faints for Your salvation, But I hope in Your word.
A special word of encouragement for all the mother’s and ladies in our lives.
Reading this title genders a quandary, based on our understanding of “hope”. Many believe hope is a synonym of wish, which is primarily based on figments of our imagination triggered by a transient desire. Scriptural hope is based on our expectation based on God’s faithfulness to His Word.
Hope is the “expected end of our faith”.
The Psalmist found himself being challenged while waiting in hope for God to prove His faithfulness to deliver not only himself, but Israel from captivity. Closing in on him the dread of being alone and overtaken by the enemy. In the midst of feeling closed in, he focuses his hope on the eternal certainty of God’s Word.
“My hope is built on nothing less. . . . .”
