Clean Conscience
Heb. 10:22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
An incredible benefit of having received imputed righteousness because of Christ’s sacrifice is a clean conscience. Prior to receiving His righteousness a consciousness of our sin nature requires continual/repetitive cleansing; yet the blood of Christ cleanses our “conscience”!
This is a crucial benefit of receiving communion, the Lord’s Table. His blood not only saved us from our transgressions and iniquity, but His blood cleanses our conscience that we might be empowered to serve Him and others free from any condemnation, knowing that repentance does more than obtain forgiveness, we obtain cleansing as well.
The process of sanctification is the result of His “perfected” sacrifice making us complete. Sanctification is a process, not just an event; justification is an event and a condition at the same time.
As a result of being forgiven, remission of sin, we have “boldness” to access His presence. With this boldness we’re called to “consider” or see one another to stir up gifts, not compete with one another. That can’t be accomplished in isolation everyone, EVERYONE needs to be connected to a life giving expression of the Body of Christ, vitally connected.
Don’t allow the enemy to dredge up your redeemed past, remind yourself and others of a cleansed conscience and then serve!
