First Response or Last Resort?

Psalm 63: 1, 2   O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water. So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory.

Our first response when confronted with disappointment, discouragement, distress; in whatever package it may be, will reveal the bend of our heart.  Frustration, despair, being overwhelmed are options or do we respond with peace, hope and confidence?

Where we seek is as important as who we seek.  The Psalmist chose to seek the “presence of the Lord” where he discovered lovingkindness, joy, tranquility and faith.

Seek Him first, don’t wait until every other option has been sought or tried.  Let Him be our First Response not our last restort!
