Functions of Discipleship

Discipleship extends beyond instruction.

2 Tim. 2: 2 the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

Teaching is essential for discipleship, but goes beyond that to finding, uncovering “faithful” people that will not only receive instruction, wisdom and insights but also multiple themselves.

Discipleship that is only one generation is not the will of God, He desires multi-generational believers.  It is my belief that early on in the process of discipleship that young believers ought to begin looking for someone they too can disciple, imparting truth to.

The Great Teacher Himself declared we were to go into all the world and make disciples – go and do likewise!
