Give to the Lord Glory & Strength?
Psalm 96: 7, 8 Give to the Lord, O families of the peoples, Give to the Lord glory and strength. Give to the Lord the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come into His courts.
How does one give “glory and strength” to the Lord; the Lord Who is all glorious and mighty in power? Also, this admonition isn’t just for Israel but for “families of the peoples”, i.e. all of mankind.
The answer is likely found in this passage, “bring an offering”. All the families of the earth are the ones doing the bringing, more specifically its individuals bringing. Further the “offering” is personal, it’s our selves.
When we give ourselves, we give glory and strength to the Lord. We’re His glory, we’re His strength.
As a friend reminds us often “you’re stronger than you think you are”! In Christ you are His strength and glory carrying out His will, fulfilling His purpose.
Give Him you, His strength!
