God’s Humility
Psalm 113:5, 6 Who is like the Lord our God, Who dwells on high, Who humbles Himself to behold The things that are in the heavens and in the earth?
The Creator of the universe “humbles Himself” by not merely knowing about mankind’s plight, but get involved their dust, ash heaps and barrenness. He dusts us off, delivers us and makes us productive in life.
The life and ministry of Jesus took it to whole new level, coming in the form of a man (Phil. 2:8). Think of it the Creator becomes creation, humbling Himself just as what He created. Every time He comes to us, initially and His ongoing care and involvement, His humility is demonstrated repeatedly.
Ought not we too humble ourselves and receive His free gift?
Even as His humility compelled His advent, His humility will compel Him to return again. Only the next time, not as vulnerable babe in a feed trough, but King of kings and Lord of lords.
