God’s Thinking
Have you ever wondered what God is thinking? I have especially when I do something bone headed or I see someone do something that appears to be really dumb.
Scriptures reveal to us about God’s thoughts and what He’s thinking, in particular about and toward us. He’s not thinking how to diss us or get away from us; in fact it’s quite the opposite.
Psalm 139:17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!
Jer. 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
You’re in the thoughts of the Lord, as Jeremiah declares. We also glean from him that they are thoughts of peace – wholeness for our future that are filled with expectation.
David amplifies insight about God’s thinking about us that His thoughts are “precious”; i.e. they are prized and very weighty in value. We also learn that His thoughts toward us are innumerable.
What an antidote to rejection.
