Heavenly Prayers

Rev. 5:8 Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

The vapor of your prayers condenses and then is deposited into “bowls full of incense”.  Yes!  Your prayers go beyond the ceiling into the very presence of the Lord.  They are mixed with worship of myriads around the throne who sing a new song that originates from those prayers.

When we pray redemptive prayers for our generation/culture, we add to the lyrics of the “new song”.  Note the content of this song in heaven; 1) global redemptive power for every people group/nation, 2) elevation of the saints to rule as kings & priests, 3) ascribing glory, honor and strength to the Lord Himself, 4) decreeing blessing, honor, glory & power.

In fact that’s a great model for prayers now!
