Holiness
1 Thess. 4:7 For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness.
God calls to every saint to “holiness”. For many years the implied focus for holiness has been on behavior, how we act. Yet holiness is much deeper! What is holiness then?
Holiness is a conscious awareness that I am a vessel, hopefully, of honor to the Lord. As such a vessel, I walk in a manner worthy of being a vessel of the Lord.
In your home there are vessels you would never think of using because of the value they have to and for you, even though they can do the job. It isn’t an issue of function, it’s an issue of value.
Holiness is the awareness that as a vessel of honor because of the value Almighty God places in me – His Spirit – there are higher purposes and uses; which empower us for purity.
Holiness is my response to the value the Lord places on me, on you!
Let us heed the call because we are valuable to Him!
