Law of Reciprocity
Luke 6:37, 38 “Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”
These verses are often associated with financial giving, especially verse 38. However there is a greater truth that goes beyond finances. The Law of Reciprocity impacts our daily lives as we interact with one another in the faith as well as those who are yet to come to Christ.
There are those who have judged and now find themselves being judged by others. Often operating in judgmentalism. Others are in the ranks of the condemned due to having sown seeds of condemnation. There are still others that aren’t forgiven because of seeds of unforgiveness have sprouted.
The truth is when we operate in opposite spirits and attitudes of a worldly mindset, the Law of Reciprocity functions as well. The Kingdom of God functions on basis of righteousness, peace and joy. When those seeds are sown there is a reciprocal harvest back to us.
In fact there is an exponential return, as they come return “good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over”.
That’s for me and for you!
