Living Hope

1 Peter 1:3 (NKJV) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Biblical hope is not a wish, which is based the transient; rather it is based on the indisputable fact of  Christ’s resurrection.

Many still hold to the notion Jesus didn’t rise from the dead, placing Him in the same category of other “religious” leaders whose bodies have long since decayed and have turned to dust.  Our hope originates on the eternality of the Living Lord Jesus Christ.

When we receive the Lord Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior we are “begotten. . . to a living hope”.  Why?  How?   Because He is risen, His tomb is empty, His body is glorified and He is ascended and seated in authority with His/our heavenly Father.

In the current climate of fear, doubt, despair and hopelessness; out HOPE is based on One Who is ALIVE.  The characteristics of much of the world are submissive to the Authority of our Blessed Hope – Jesus Christ.  He has not rescinded nor abdicated His authority given Him by the Father.  May we hold fast to our “living hope”!
