Love Trumps Knowledge
Phil. 1:9 And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment,
Most are familiar with Paul’s exhortation to the church in Corinth “the greatest of these is love” (1 Cor. 13:13). Could Paul be adding another layer as to why love is greater when he writes to the church in Philippi?
He speaks for love to “abound still more and more in knowledge”. The question posed by the Spirit to me asked if I’m still abounding in love, even when I have knowledge of or about someone when that “knowledge” isn’t very lovely.
There are people in my life that have walked out this kind of abounding love, knowing the unloving knowledge about me.
“Lord for Your abounding love that is greater than Your knowledge about me. May that same love abound in and through my life in Jesus’ Name!”
