Revelation for the Righteous

Psalm 97:11   Light is sown for the righteous, And gladness for the upright in heart.

Light in this context could be a metaphor for revelation.  One of the blessings of having received the imputed righteousness of Christ is revelation.

The metaphor is carried another step, suggesting it is a “seed”, something that is planted with potential greater than seed itself.  Seeds are intended to grow and produce fruit. Revelation is ever expanding with broader understanding and application than its beginning.

Expansion is contingent on being faithful to apply the initial revelation.  With the application, further insights are revealed.  Much like the layers being peeled off an onion, there’s more!

The fruit of light or revelation is “gladness”, which could be correctly translated joy!  Cultivate the seeds of light and reap the harvests of gladness and joy.
