The Promise of Christmas
Luke 2:12, 16 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”
And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger.
We see the Promise of Christmas in the shepherds encounter on that first Christmas. The promise given to them is still valid today that if they would “find”, and in finding or seeking that Someone would be “found”.
Had they not sought, they would not have found!
That Promise is as valid today as it was on that chilly Christmas morning in the tiny village, the birth place of The Promise! As we seek for Him, He will be found! The futility of seeking in all the wrong places isn’t that He’s hiding, it is simply He can’t be found in them.
Where can He be found today? A beginning place is to request “Come Lord Jesus!” When spoken with sincerity, He is found like Peter when walking on the water – closer than we realized!
“Come Lord Jesus!”
